AN upcoming Star Wars game received its first trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase.
One of the games that opened the show, it’s a reboot of a game from 1997.
Our new protagonist Kay Vess.
Star Wars Outlaws is being developed by Ubisoft known for games like Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia.
In our trailer we got to meet our female, outlaw protagonist, Kay Vess, with her animal companion Nix by her side.
She starts out gambling at the cantina, before having to quickly make her escape.
We see her riding across the desert and hopping onboard different spacecraft.
She will be participating in one of the biggest heists on the Outer Rim, in a period set between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
While we didn’t see anything that looked like gameplay of Star Wars Outlaws, it seems the new game will be in third-person.
This is different from the original which was a first-person shooter.
What shocked gamers the most was the quality of what was seen.
Xbox promised that all footage shown would be captured in the real game engine.
This is important as pre-rendered footage is expected to be of a higher quality than what you see in game.
However, what we saw at the Xbox Games Showcase was incredibly realistic, impressing fans.
It is some of the best graphics we’ve seen in gaming, pushing even current generation hardware like the Xbox Series X to its limits.
No release date was given but we are unlikely to see it before 2024.
However, gameplay and more will be shown at the Ubisoft Forward at 6pm on Monday, June 12, 2023.
