The TMNT event is coming to Fortnite - here's everything you need to know

What is the TMNT event in Fortnite?

EPIC Games has been teasing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab in Fortnite for a while now, and the special event is finally coming. Update 28.20 brought a new countdown in Fortnite featuring an image of Shredder, leading up to the TMNT event’s proper launch on Friday.

TMNT Fortnite event start time

The Fortnite x TMNT collab is set to start on Friday, February 9, at 2pm UK Time / 9am ET, and this is when the event countdown will reach zero. Once the event starts, expect a slew of TMNT-themed quests and rewards added to the game.

TMNT Shredder and Splinter Fortnite skins

The Shredder skin is set to be the highlight of this TMNT collab, and the turtles’ arch-nemesis is getting two skin variants. One is based on Shredder’s regular appearance in comic books, and the other is Super Shredder, his mutated empowered version that first appeared in 1991’s film TMNT II. TMNT fans are also getting a Master Splinter skin, based on the turtles’ wise mutant rat mentor. The new skins will be available both in Fortnite Battle Royale and as Lego minifigures for Lego Fortnite.

Fortnite TMNT Mythics

The Fortnite x TMNT collab will also add four new Mythic weapons with Dash and Attack abilities. The Mythic weapons that are expected for the event, unsurprisingly, are: Leonardo’s Katana, Donatello’s Staff, Raphael’s Sai, and Michelangelo’s Nunchucks.

Fortnite TMNT POI, Hoverboard, and more

The map is getting a new point of interest called Turtle Lair, which has also leaked as one of the additions coming as part of the TMNT event. A new vehicle based on the turtles’ iconic hoverboard will also be added to the game, with a chance to spawn at random spots. The update will also add a purchasable quest pack, that adds more exclusive quests, giving more options to level up your Battle Pass.
