Pokémon fans are going wild for the latest collaboration, with social media abuzz with excitement and eager buyers already selling products on eBay.
A Dutch masterpiece meets Pokémon
Pokémon has teamed up with the renowned Van Gogh Museum to create a range of products inspired by the legendary Dutch painter's art.
The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam recently released a vast selection of merchandise, including postcards, trading cards, and plushies.
From Sunflowers to Pikachu
These unique items feature clever adaptations of Van Gogh's masterpieces, such as Sunflora Pokémon in 'Sunflowers' and Pikachu replacing the artist in 'Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat'.
Frenzy at the museum
As soon as the museum's gift shop opened its doors, fans swarmed into the store to get their hands on the coveted merchandise. Despite restrictions on the number of items each person could buy, some individuals wasted no time in reselling their purchases on eBay.
Don't panic, there's another way
Fortunately, fans who missed out on the museum release need not worry. The Pokémon Center online store will also be selling the collaboration goodies, although they are expected to sell out quickly as well.
From puzzle to plushie
Among the standout pieces in the collection is a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle featuring a Pokémon-themed rendition of Van Gogh's 'The Bedroom', showcasing Snorlax and Munchlax. Additionally, 'Pikachu with a Grey Felt Hat' is available as a statue, plushie, tote bag, and trading card.
Coming soon
The merchandise will soon be available on the Pokémon Center online store, although an exact release date and time have not yet been announced.
Avoid the risk and shop online
For Pokémon fans unable to make the trip to Amsterdam or those who prefer the convenience of online shopping, this collaboration offers a great solution.
