Pokémon fans have limited time to catch Scarlet and Violet's newest 'mon

New limited-time event announced for powerful 'mon

Pokémon enthusiasts have a brief window of opportunity to capture Scarlet and Violet's latest additions to their collection of 'mons. A newly announced event will allow players a mere six days to acquire a super powerful 'mon before it disappears from the game. Sceptile, the Grass-type starter from Generation 3, is set to be the focus of seven-star Tera raids, showcasing its Mega Evolution-inspired tera type.

Mark your calendars for the catch dates

Scheduled to be available for capture from Friday, June 28, 2024, to Sunday, June 30, 2024, and then again from Friday, July 5, 2024, to Sunday, July 7, 2024, players will have limited chances to add Sceptile to their Pokédex. During the specified time frame, players can participate in one raid per day, with the opportunity to capture Sceptile the Unrivaled only once.

Prepare for a battle of types

The Dragon Tera type of Sceptile introduces a new challenge as players will need to strategize against both Grass- and Dragon-type moves. To tackle this formidable opponent, it is recommended to bring along Ice and Fairy type Pokémon, as they are effective against Dragon types.

Exciting nods to the past and hints of the future

With its high-speed stat and Dragon Tera type, Sceptile pays homage to its Mega Evolution form, combining elements of Dragon- and Grass-type Pokémon. While Mega Evolutions have not been available in recent Pokémon games, the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to reintroduce them, potentially featuring new additions to the series.
