NINTENDO recently announced that Shiny Gimmighoul would make its debut in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Revealed during the June Nintendo Direct, it is the first time that popular competitive Pokémon Gholdengo will be available as a Shiny.
Gimmighoul raids are now live.
However, it’s not as easy to find as people originally thought, and many are struggling to find one.
Here’s everything you need to know and the easiest methods for grabbing Shiny Gimmighoul and Gholdengo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Gimmighoul raids – Pokémon SV
Shiny Gimmighoul is only available during limited time raids, which are available now until July 2, 2023.
Luckily, the raids aren’t too difficult as Gimmighoul is a rather underwhelming Pokémon.
The raids can be between three- and five-star, and here’s the information on the most intimidating 5-star moveset.
Gimmighoul – Level 75
- Nature: Random
- Tera-Type: Random
- Held-Item: None
- Moveset: Take Down, Shadow Ball, Hex, Power Gem, Nasty Plot
Anything you have with a high enough level should be able to take Gimmighoul down.
Of course, defeating Gimmighoul isn’t the issue here, it’s finding a Shiny one.
What does Shiny Gimmighoul look like? – Pokémon SV
The difference in Gimmighoul’s Shiny form is very slight.
Odds for Shiny Gimmighoul to appear are slightly worse than standard odds, at 1/4103 instead of 1/4096.
As they only appear in raids it can be quite time consuming going around and checking for a Shiny, especially as the difference is so slight.
You can see in our image, the only difference is that the body is slightly whiter.
This means it can be difficult to tell whether it is Shiny or not until you capture it.
Luckily, there is a way to guarantee a Shiny Gimmighoul.
Easy way to catch a Shiny Gimmighoul – Pokémon SV
While odds aren’t good if you search by yourself, it’s easier if you get help from others.
Using the online functions, you can search for raids online to take on Gimmighoul.
Players are usually generous, and if they find a Shiny Gimmighoul, they are likely to share the raid on the online bulletin board.
There is a guaranteed way to find a Shiny Gimmighoul raid.
By going to online communities such as r/ShinyPokemon on Reddit, and the Discord server Shiny Hunters Anonymous, you can find more people looking to help out.
Players often share raid codes for Shiny Gimmighoul Raids, so they can share their Shiny find with three other players.
The best time to search is now, when people are most hyped to find one.
