PlayStation Showcase 2021 – when is it?

PlayStation Showcase 2021 is set for Thursday, September 9 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST.

Thankfully, it won’t be too late into the evening for UK viewers, which often happens with US-based events.

The show will run around 40 minutes long so you’ll be tucked up in bed by a reasonable hour.

PlayStation Showcase 2021 – how to watch?

The PlayStation Showcase 2021 livestream will be broadcast on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

We’ll embed one of the streams here closer to the time to save you having to jump across different websites.

PlayStation Showcase 2021 – what to expect?

In its blog post about the event, Sony specifically points out that there will be no PSVR 2 news.

“One thing to note: PlayStation’s next generation of VR won’t make an appearance this time. But there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small,” it says.

What we can expect is “a look into the future of PS5” which includes updates from PlayStation Studios.

Over the years, it’s acquired Uncharted developer Naughty Dog, Horizon Zero Dawn’s Guerrilla Games, Ratchet & Clank’s Insomniac Games, and more recently, Housemarque – the studio behind PS5 exclusive Returnal.

It won’t just be limited to AAA blockbusters; the blog post says there’ll be “plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small.”

So be sure to tune in if you want to see what’s in store for the PS5 as we gear up for the holiday season and beyond.
