PlayStation Gamers Rejoice: New Streaming Service Offers 100 Free Films
The Sony Pictures Core service is launching for PS4 and PS5 consoles today.

Sony Pictures Core is the rebranded name for Bravia Core, a well-known rental and purchasing service for films on Sony's Bravia TVs, as well as Xperia smartphones and tablets. As a way to mark the rebranding, Sony is now launching the service as Sony Pictures Core on PlayStation consoles.

The new service will offer more than 2,000 films for rent or purchase directly from PS4 and PS5 consoles. This includes highly-anticipated titles such as the latest Spider-Man film, Uncharted, The Equalizer, No Hard Feelings, Bullet Train, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. PS gamers in the US will also have the option to purchase the Gran Turismo movie, based on the popular racing video game series, with UK availability coming soon.

Free Films for PlayStation Plus Subscribers

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will have access to a catalog of up to 100 films at no extra cost. This allows subscribers to watch these films whenever they want, without ads, as part of their subscription. Sony has promised to update the free catalog with new films regularly. Additionally, Sony has hinted at additional perks for all PlayStation Plus members, regardless of their subscription tier, but details have not been announced yet.

To access the new Sony Pictures Core app, PlayStation console owners should look for it in the Media section on PS5 or in the PS Store on PS4.
