November's PlayStation Plus Essential Games
PlayStation has just revealed three new free games that will be available for PS5 users. However, despite the excitement surrounding the announcement, some players are feeling a bit let down.
Starting from Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and lasting until Tuesday, December 5, 2023, these three games will be accessible to subscribers of the PlayStation Plus service. This includes users on the cheapest tier of the subscription, known as PlayStation Plus Essential.
While the games are free for subscribers, there have been concerns about the quality of the titles offered. Let's take a closer look at what's in store for November.
Mafia 2: Definitive Edition
The highlight of the month is Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, a game that holds a decent 72 rating on Metacritic. Considered the best game in the Mafia series, which gained popularity in the early 2000s, Mafia 2 is a port of the original game for modern consoles rather than a full remake like its predecessor.
While the game received praise upon its initial release, it now feels somewhat dated by modern standards. However, fans of the series may still find enjoyment in exploring the action-adventure gameplay.
Aliens Fireteam Elite
Next up is Aliens Fireteam Elite, a third-person survival game that takes inspiration from the Alien franchise. Although it was lauded for its use of the iconic sci-fi series, the game received an overall average critics rating of 69.
While it may not have lived up to everyone's expectations, the release of Aliens Fireteam Elite on PS Plus is likely to attract more online players, making it easier to find partners to play with.
Dragonball the Breakers
Lastly, we have Dragonball the Breakers, an online fighting game set in the Dragonball universe. Unfortunately, this game was met with critical disappointment, receiving a mere 53 on Metacritic. As a result, finding partners to play with online has proven to be a challenge.
However, with its release on PS Plus, we can anticipate an increase in online players, making it more accessible for those eager to dive into the Dragonball universe.
