It’s an infiltration stealth game with RPG elements that follows goblin assassin Styx through a sprawling vertical and multi-layered world

Styx: Master of Shadows is currently reduced from £15.99 to just £1.59 on the PlayStation Store – which is cheaper than most supermarket sandwiches these days.

The offer is on for the next two weeks, until 16 August.

The 2014 one-player game has snagged a warm 71 rating on Metacritic.

It’s an infiltration stealth game with RPG elements that follows goblin assassin Styx through a sprawling vertical and multi-layered world.

The dark fantasy game is rated PEGI 16 and is compatible with PS4 consoles.

Created by game-house Cyanide Studios – the same publisher behind the Game of Thrones role playing game, Loki and Dogs of War – the game boasts a massive map, according to folks who have played it.

In a review on Metacritic, one gamer said: “With only little imperfections here and there it’s an unforgetable ride.

“No nursing, lots of freedom, outstanding level (or should I say – world) and sound design, solid graphics.”

Another said the stealth game play is “amazingly polished and any true stealth fan will love it.”

While others have said it was what the Lord of The Rings: Gollum game “failed to live up to.”

A number of players have called the combat scenes “clunky.”

But some players think that is “intentional” so the focus remains on the stealth aspect of the game.
