Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Adds Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Nintendo has announced that two beloved RPGs from the Game Boy Advance era, Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age, will be available for free on the Nintendo Switch. However, there is a catch.
Available to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Members
These classic JRPGs will only be accessible to subscribers of the upper tier of Nintendo's subscription service, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Players will be able to download the Game Boy Advance app from the eShop on the Switch and play the games at no additional cost starting on January 17, 2024.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age have received critical acclaim, with the original Golden Sun game boasting an impressive 91/100 rating on review aggregator Metacritic. Despite their age, released in 2001 and 2002 for a handheld console, these JRPGs are considered must-plays for fans of the genre.
A Journey Into a Fantasy World
Set in the enchanting realm of Weyard, Golden Sun follows a group of adepts at magic as they strive to prevent a destructive force from wreaking havoc on their world. Players will utilize a unique form of magic known as Psynergy to overcome challenges and explore new areas.

Nintendo's promise to bring these beloved classics to the Switch has finally been fulfilled. The new releases will feature all the content fans remember and will support multiplayer battle mode as well as the option to transfer save data between the two games.
