Nintendo Switch fans rush to grab new Pokémon coming to Scarlet and Violet – and it’s free

POKÉMON is one of Nintendo’s most popular series, and Scarlet & Violet is bringing another treat for fans.

New Pokémon added through seven-star raids

Nintendo Switch players are in for a treat as a new Pokémon is making its debut in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Hisuian Typhlosion, a regional variant of the starter from Pokémon Gold and Silver, can now be battled and caught through a challenging seven-star raid. While the Johtonian version of Typhlosion is a pure Fire-type, the Hisuian version is a dual Fire- and Ghost-type. However, players should note that during the seven-star raid, it will revert to being a pure Fire-type. This opens up the opportunity for powerful Fighting- and Normal-type attacks to be used against it, such as Ursaring’s Facade.

Unlocking the raid and catching Hisuian Typhlosion

To participate in the seven-star raid and catch Hisuian Typhlosion, players must first complete the mainline story and the storyline in Area Zero. Once this is accomplished, players will be invited to a tournament at the school, which must be completed at least once. Additionally, a number of five-star raids must be completed, and players will receive a call from Jacq informing them that six-star raids have been unlocked. This will then open up the opportunity to participate in the limited-time seven-star raids.

Availability and dates

Players will have two weekends to catch Hisuian Typhlosion. The first set of Typhlosion raids will be available from Friday, November 3, 2023, until Sunday, November 5, 2023. The second set of raids will be available from Friday, November 10, 2023, until Sunday, November 12, 2023.
