Reliable Leaker Reveals Details
Nintendo fans are buzzing with anticipation over a reliable leak that has revealed information about a new Nintendo Switch console ahead of its official reveal. French site Dealabs editor billbil-kun, known for accurately revealing exclusive news, shared some juicy details about the new console model in a post on Dealabs Magazine.
Mario Red Edition Coming Soon?
The leak suggests that Nintendo is preparing to launch a new special edition of their Nintendo Switch OLED model. The limited-edition console variant will reportedly be themed around the upcoming 2D Mario game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Fans can expect the official details about the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model – Mario Red Edition to be unveiled tomorrow, August 31, 2023, at 3 p.m. UK time / 7 a.m. Pacific Time.
What to Expect
According to billbil-kun, the new variant of the console will feature two red Joy-Con and a red Switch Dock. However, there will be no other Mario-themed customizations, such as logos or characters, on the device. The shade of red used is said to be similar to the one found on the right Joy-Con of the classic Neon Blue/Neon Red version of the Switch OLED model. The leak also suggests that some elements on the back of the console, like the volume control buttons, may be red as well.
Pricing and Release Date
The leaked information suggests that the Mario Red Edition will be priced the same as the existing standard Switch OLED models, which cost €349.99 in France. However, some retailers in France are expected to offer the model at a discounted price of €310, raising hopes for similar pre-order deals in the UK and US. While billbil-kun does not have an exact release date for the Mario Red Edition, it is expected to be launched before October, in line with the release date of Super Mario Bros. Wonder on October 20, 2023.
Take It with a Grain of Salt
While billbil-kun has a track record of accurate leaks, it's always wise to approach such information with caution until there is an official announcement from Nintendo. Fans won't have to wait long for confirmation, as the official reveal is expected during tomorrow's Nintendo Direct at 3 p.m. UK time / 7 a.m. Pacific Time.
