New Pokémon Trading Card Game Set Sells Out Within Minutes, Leaving Fans Disappointed

POKÉMON, the beloved series that has captured the hearts of people around the world for nearly 30 years, has once again proven its popularity. A newly released Pokémon game sold out within minutes of pre-orders going live, despite its eye-watering price tag.

Nostalgia Brings Fans Running

Playing on people’s nostalgia for the series, which first launched in 1996, Pokémon decided to bring back all of the original monsters. The original Pokémon Trading Card game and video games were released that same year in Japan, but it wasn't until 1999 that the games made their way to the UK. However, thanks to the TV show, people were already hooked on the series.

In an effort to tap into that nostalgia, Pokémon released a deluxe set of the original trading card series, much to the excitement of fans. The set includes three 60-card decks based on the three starter Pokémon from the original games: Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. It also comes with a number of accessories that trading card players use, such as damage counters, card sleeves, and a game board.

A Hefty Price Tag

However, the excitement quickly turned to disappointment when fans discovered the price of the Pokémon TCG Classic collection. Selling at a whopping £400 ($400), the set comes with a hefty price tag. Despite this, it didn't deter fans from rushing to get their hands on it.

Disappointment Strikes

Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived as the collectible set sold out within minutes of going live. Many disappointed fans were left empty-handed, unable to secure a copy of the highly sought-after set.

Of course, this disappointment has led to a surge in the resale market, with many copies now being sold on platforms like eBay. However, the prices for these sets are skyrocketing. Some listings are now asking for as much as £2000, a significant markup from the original price.

Collectibles on the Rise

It's no secret that the prices for collectible items are constantly rising, and this Pokémon TCG Classic collection is no exception. It's not uncommon to see collectibles like this sell for extraordinary prices, as fans and collectors are willing to pay a premium for items that hold sentimental value.

For now, fans who missed out on the Pokémon TCG Classic collection will have to keep their eye out for future releases or hope for a restock. With the popularity of Pokémon continuing to grow, it's safe to say that demand for these collectibles will only increase.
