Surprising Leak
In the midst of anticipation for the long-awaited GTA 6 trailer, an unexpected leak has occurred. Footage from the game was leaked on TikTok by an unlikely source, just hours before the official release.
Quick Removal
The leaked footage, a 12-second video, was quickly removed from TikTok and the user's account has been deleted. However, it has been reposted by many other users along with their reactions.
Blurry Clip
The leaked video shows a blurry clip of a monitor displaying the world of GTA 6, filmed through a smartphone. The camera spins around, giving a 360-degree view of the setting, which appears to be a standard American city.
Source Revealed
What's surprising about the leaked footage is the source it came from. The TikTok user posted a picture of a child with a senior Rockstar developer, though it's unclear whether the child is the developer's son or a family friend. The motivation behind leaking the footage is said to be rendering the upcoming trailer worthless.
Lockdown
Since the leak, the Rockstar developer has locked down their social media accounts and even deleted their LinkedIn page, indicating the seriousness of the situation.
Not Revolutionary
While GTA fans are eagerly awaiting more information about GTA 6, the leaked footage doesn't show anything groundbreaking. It's advised to wait for the official trailer, which is expected to reveal a far more substantial chunk of the game, including gameplay footage and the introduction of new protagonists.
Possible Release Date
There is speculation that the official trailer may also include a release date. Based on statements from publisher Take-Two, it's believed that GTA 6 will be released in the financial year 2025, spanning April 2024 to March 2025.
