CHARLIE “MoistCr1TiKal” White, is a famous Twitch streamer with over 11 million subscribers, but he hasn’t been successful in every gaming business venture.
While his Twitch stream and YouTube channels pull in millions of viewers every month, in one sector he reports “massive net losses”.
Cr1TiKal called on his fans to help him reach the top.
In August 2021, Cr1TiKal started a new business to break into the lucrative esports market.
His company, called Moist Esports, has seen small successes at tournaments, but not enough to outweigh Cr1TiKal’s players’ paychecks.
Moist Esports is widely regarded as offering some of the most player-friendly contracts to those wishing to work in the esports industry.
However, this has led to Cr1TiKal making losses of “six figures per month”.
Despite this, due to the popularity of his other businesses, including his content creation, he is able to continue funding the company.
But for Moist Esports to become a successful company, it needs to be able to create revenue for itself.
Last week, Cr1TiKal released a video called “I need you” in which he begged his watchers to help.
A creator event was going on where the top team in a newly released game would be able to earn 3% of the game’s revenue.
The game, Omega Strikers, is a little bit like Mario Kart meets Rocket League.
Two teams of three players face off in a football match, but can use traps to hinder other players.
Cr1TiKal claims he is “passionate about Moist Esports” and wanted his viewers’ help to allow Team Moist to claim the prize.
Before his call to action, Team Moist was sitting at sixth place on the leaderboard.
However, with his legion of fans rushing to join Team Moist in Omega Strikers, and participating in matches, the team soon took the top spot.
There is only a matter of hours left before the event ends, and Team Moist sits at the top of the leaderboard with over 2 million points, twice that of the runner-up.
Cr1TiKal claims the 3% revenue his fans helped him earn will go directly to supporting a future for Moist Esports.
