Millions of gamers warned of huge Nintendo shutdown – find out if you will be affected
Around 1k games will be gone for good.

By the end of the day, Monday, March 27, 2023 both the Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U shops will be closed down forever.

If you have not purchased the games you want before the shutdown, you will not be able to purchase them.

Experts believe the shutdown will lead to around 1k games being gone for good.

This is because both the Wii U and 3DS use dual screens, a functionality that Nintendo’s other consoles don’t have.

Games you purchase before the shutdown will still be playable, even if they are not downloaded onto your system.

You will still be able to download purchased games at a later date, and your physical games will still work.

However, if there is money left in your eShop wallet, you will need to transfer it to your Nintendo Switch or that will disappear too.

Owners have been rushing to buy games on their consoles before the shops shut down.

Among the most popular is the Pokémon series, seven of which have appeared in the top ten most downloaded games last month.

One gaming YouTuber even spent almost £20k ($23k) to purchase all the games before the shops close.

If you own either console, then you have just hours left to purchase the games you want.
