New Developer, New Writing
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield without her time-rewinding powers. The original developer stepped away, but Deck Nine has taken over and put women in charge, leading to a significant upgrade in writing for the main characters.
Max's Revamped Personality
Max is now well-written with more personality and less self-doubt. Her dorky side remains, but it's now just one aspect of her character. The gameplay remains familiar, with exploration and choices that impact the story.
An Intriguing Setup
In Double Exposure, Max is a professional photographer who hasn't used her rewind powers in years. When a friend is killed, she gains a new power to jump to an alternate universe where her friend is alive. Chapter 2 couldn't be previewed due to technical issues, but the game shows promise.
