LEAGUE of Legends is set to receive a big new patch, with developer Riot Games pulling back on jungle changes from previous updates.
In preparation for the upcoming Champion, Milio, multiple other Champions have also been adjusted, with some getting buffs and others getting nerfs.
Aatrox is one of the buffed Champions in Patch 13.5
Riot also revealed pricing changes for Champions going forward, with some becoming much cheaper depending on how easy they are to play.
Here’s everything you need to know about the League of Legends 13.5 update.
LoL 13.5: Jungle changes
Riot is constantly tweaking the jungle in League of Legends, with new changes and additions being added in almost every patch.
In a previous update, the developer attempted to stop counter-jungling, or invading the opponent’s jungle early in a match, by introducing buffs.
Unfortunately, the buffs introduced went too far, and jungle players became much too powerful in the early game, which upset the balance of the game.
13.5 pulls these changes back a bit, and players will now receive a much smaller boost to damage to their own camps.
LoL 13.5: Champions buffed
Nine Champions have been buffed, or made stronger, in the 13.5 update ahead of the release of new Champion Milio soon.
Here is the full list:
- Aatrox
- Fizz
- Jinx
- Kennem
- LeBlanc
- Qiyanna
- Rumble
- Samira
- Tryndamere
In addition, Yuumi will receive a full rework, with all abilities and skills adjusted in one way or another, in an attempt to make her more viable.
Many of the buffs in the 13.5 patch, like the buff to Aatrox, were a result of “overnerfing” in previous seasons, and these Champions should now be much more usable.
LoL 13.5: Champions nerfed
Only seven Champions were nerfed in the League of Legends 13.5 update, much fewer than in some recent patches which saw heavy nerfs across the board.
Here’s the full list of Champions nerfed:
- Aurelion Sol
- Caitlyn
- Gangplank
- Rammus
- Twitch
- Xayah
- Yorick
Many of these changes were made to help adjust the balance of the game, where each of these Champions has been dominating on the competitive scene.
The Champion most affected by this is Gangplank, whose passive ability damage has been cut down, and had his Powder Keg ability recharge slower at higher ranks.
LoL 13.5: AFK penalties
The development team has been putting a lot of effort into making sure players don’t ‘AFK’, or idle during matches, and new changes have been made to address this in the 13.5 patch.
The team has found that players who leave games or idle during games don’t do it frequently enough to earn penalties.
This means that players who leave or idle during games less frequently weren’t being penalised for negatively affecting other players.
Going forward, anyone who leaves or idles during a match will be hit with a one-minute delay for queuing for future games, which should help deter the practice.
Future LoL Champion pricing changes
While this change hasn’t been implemented yet, it has been announced that pricing changes for Champions will take place in patch 13.7.
Riot has detailed the changes, with new Champions costing the same amount, and older Champions now being priced on a sliding scale.
Champions that are easier to play for new players will be cheaper, to encourage those players to pick up a character suited for their play level.
Malphite, Miss Fortune, and the newly reworked Yuumi were all listed as examples of Champions that will be available at the lowest price tier.
