Deleting Your PlayStation Network Account

PLAYSTATION is the biggest gaming brand globally, emerging in the mid-’90s after a decade dominated by Nintendo and Sega. If you're considering deleting your PlayStation Network account, here's what you need to know.

To delete your Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) account, you will have to contact Sony directly. This means saying goodbye to all associated data, including purchases. Make sure you have your email sign-in ID and online ID on hand before proceeding.

To inform Sony of your decision to delete your account, access the Contact Support option on this page. Click on Account & Security, then select Change online ID & other account questions. The live chat is available from 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Restoring a Deleted PSN Account

Once your data is deleted from PSN, it is impossible to restore it. Sony's website clarifies that the online ID from the closed account cannot be used to create a new one. Content purchased using the account cannot be transferred to another account, and refunds are subject to the PlayStation Store cancellation policy.

Subscriptions, entitlements, and funds in your PSN wallet will also be lost upon deleting your account.

What Happens to Your PSN Data?

When you delete your account, all data stored on Sony's servers will be permanently removed. Games and media purchased through PSN will no longer be accessible, even if the game is still on your console. Users will lose access to purchased content and their histories.
