GTA 6 Trailer: Six Exciting New Features Revealed

GTA 6 Trailer: Six Exciting New Features Revealed

ROCKSTAR surprises fans with early release of highly-anticipated GTA 6 trailer

After an unfortunate leak online, ROCKSTAR Games made the decision to release the GTA 6 trailer earlier than expected. Although it was only 90 seconds long, the trailer provided gamers with plenty of new information to analyze and speculate about.

Co-operative Dual Protagonists: A First for GTA

One of the most exciting new features spotted in the trailer is the introduction of co-operative dual protagonists. The trailer introduces us to Lucia, a character who begins her journey in jail and later embarks on heists with her partner. Although the male partner remains unnamed in the trailer, leaks suggest his name could be Jason. This could be the first mainline GTA game to feature two-person co-op.

TikTok and Live Streaming Take Center Stage

The trailer also highlighted the game's increased focus on social media. Various social media apps, including ones that resemble TikTok with live streaming capabilities, were showcased. It seems that Lucia will have the ability to livestream events she encounters in Vice City, potentially allowing players to build a social media following and unlock contacts or generate money.

Wild Animals Roam Vice City

Wild animals, a feature recently added to GTA Online, will also make an appearance in Vice City. The trailer reveals a crocodile casually walking into a convenience store, hinting at the potential impact these animals could have in the wider game.

Expanded Interiors to Explore

In previous mainline GTA games, the majority of buildings were closed off to players. However, the trailer suggests that GTA 6 will change that. Lucia and her partner are seen barging through doors to participate in heists, and glimpses of the interiors of several buildings are shown. It is estimated that up to 70% of buildings in the game will be enterable, offering players a plethora of new areas to explore.

New Vehicles and Expansive Map

The trailer showcases a wide array of vehicles, but two particular ones caught the attention of fans: hovercrafts and yachts. Additionally, the trailer reveals bridges and far-off islands, hinting at the massive scale of the game's map. Reports indicate that the GTA 6 map will be even larger than Los Santos, and players may have the ability to travel to new islands using these vehicles. The game's prologue also takes place in a jail, suggesting the inclusion of new types of locations.

2025 Release Date and Platform Exclusivity

The trailer finally confirms that GTA 6 is set to release in 2025, with financial reporting indicating an early 2025 release window, between January and early April. However, there is a catch - the game will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This news came as a disappointment to PC gamers, who have been accustomed to enjoying the latest GTA releases.
