GENSHIN Impact will soon receive the long awaited 3.0 update and fans are excited for all the extra content on offer.
A brand new region Sumeru was shown off in Saturday’s (August 13) livestream, alongside additional parts to the main story, three new characters and a new elemental type.
New characters coming in the 3.0 update.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact 3.0 update.
When will Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update be released?
The Genshin Impact servers will go down on August 23, 2022 at 11pm UK time, in order to start processing the new update.
They will be down for approximately five hours, and will return with the new update ready to go on Wednesday, August 24 at 4am in the UK.
It may take a little longer than this, but if you want to start as soon as the update drops, you should be ready around this time.
How long is it before Genshin Impact’s next major update?
Genshin Impact’s next major update isn’t planned for a long time yet, but smaller updates will be added to version 3.0 to keep things fresh.
Previously, each update came roughly every six weeks, but 3.0 hopes to shorten this time and give everyone a lot more content.
However, it also means that the characters available to you will be available for a week less than usual, so you had better start playing the gacha soon.
This is the schedule for the remainder of 2022.
- Update 3.0 – August 24, to September 27
- Update 3.1 – September 28, to November 1
- Update 3.2 – November 2, to December 6
- Update 3.3 – from December 7
The schedule for 2023 and beyond is yet to be announced.
However, Hoyoverse explained that the new story for Sumeru will wrap up by the end of the 3.2 update.
This means that the updates could return to a six week basis after the story is finished.
We’ll have to keep an eye on official announcements to find out more.
