SONY has hidden a game-changing trick inside every PlayStation 5.
It’s called Game Help and it can help you win at games that are making you pull your hair out.
Game Help may be just what you need to progress in your favourite PlayStation title
The feature is designed to help you out when you’re stuck in a PlayStation game.
We’ve all been there and it’s infuriating: tackling a puzzle or objective that’s just too tricky to overcome.
With the PS5, Sony added a feature called Game Help that is designed to lead you in the right direction.
“During PS5 development, our research found that the majority of players told us they seek out help for their games,” Sony explained.
“Almost half get stuck in a game on a weekly basis, and more than half said they encounter spoilers when they seek out help for a game.
“Or spend too much time searching for the tip they are looking for.”
Sony said that lots of players look for help on puzzles in particular.
And if you take a break from a game for a few days, Game Help can also reorient you once you return.
The feature is available in a host of games including Astro’s Playroom, Maquette, Oddworld: Soulstorm, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
“We went to work to create a feature for players that provides them with an easy way to get hints on the specific parts of the game they are playing, without spoilers or spending a lot of time searching for tips on the internet,”
“We worked closely with game developers to create this feature, and also incorporated key feedback from our user testing research.
“It’s great to see this feature implemented in supported games, to quickly provide hints to players directly from the PS5 console, so they can spend more time playing.”
According to Sony, the hints are progressively useful.
So a first hint might give you a very vague tip.
Then a second hint might be more detailed – and could include a short clip of where to get started.
And the third and final hint would give you the total answer to get past where you’re stuck.
How to use PS5 Game Help
The first thing to note is that Game Help is a PlayStation Plus feature.
That means you’ll need to be a paying subscriber to take advantage of the perk.
Now, launch up a game and wait until you get stuck.
Press the PS button – if it’s a supported game then a hint card will appear on the Control Center.
Tap that and choose the objective that you’re stuck on.
You can then pass the PS button to go back to your game.
You can view multiple hints by pressing R1/L1 to switch between them.
And you can also pin hints to the side so that you can keep working on the game with Game Help in clear view.
