From GTA 6 to Metroid Prime 4 — games we want to hear more about in 2023

STUDIOS have a habit of announcing games in the very early stages of development, meaning we have to wait a long time before we see any gameplay.

There are a number of games we know are being worked on, but we have no idea how far along development is.

From GTA 6 to Metroid Prime 4 — games we want to hear more about in 2023
Is this still happening?

While we know that games take as long as they take to be finished, we just want to see a little bit more of what’s to come.

Here are the ten games we want to see more of in 2023.

Metroid Prime 4

Metroid Prime 4 was announced in the summer 2017, with one glorious jpeg.

And we get it. The original studio wasn’t working out and development started from scratch, we don’t expect the game anytime soon.

2023 will mark four years since Retro Studios started work, and we have heard nothing more of production.

Just one morsel of Metroid Prime 4 next year please! We’re starving.

The Elder Scrolls 6

When Todd Howard stood up on the stage to show the trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6, the game was far from completion.

With all that knowledge, he still went up and did it to us, while Bethesda was still hard at work on Starfield.

But now we are reaching Starfield’s release and we still haven’t seen any more of the upcoming Elder Scrolls.

Todd, we know you want to sell Skyrim another 20 or so times, but you have to show us something new at some point.

Tekken 8

This is one that might actually be released in 2023 as we saw quite a bit of the game at The Game Awards.

We’re still eagerly awaiting the full cast of fighters, and desperate to know what new fighters will be joining the team.

It looks shiny and new, and is exactly what we expect from a modern fighting game.

You don’t have to release it just yet, but an online beta like Street Fighter 6 might be nice.

GTA 6

Almost everything we know about GTA 6 was gained via one of gaming’s biggest ever hacks.

However, official news from Rockstar about the game only goes as far as “yes, we’re making it”.

Even if the team decided to show off some of the things we already know about the game, it would be nice to see an official version.

We know that what happened was awful, and now we’re waiting to see what you have to show us.

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake became a cult classic after a rough development due to the quality of the final game.

Remedy released a remaster following the success of their last game Control, with the announcement that the sequel was in the works.

However, it’s been years since that announcement, with no news coming from the studio.

Just let us know how it’s going, we want to take another peek in Alan Wake’s dark world.

Fable

Ah Fable! The amazing trilogy of games that Peter Molyneux made before he went off the deep end.

Thousands of gamers across the world love this fantasy adventure, and Molyneux not there anymore, you’re allowed to actually finish it.

We all want to be the hero of the town again, only to be judged by the world for kicking a few too many chickens.

We understand that a gameplay trailer may be a bit much to ask, but could you let us know if it’s still in development?

Everwild

Rare was known for creating all of Nintendo 64’s best games in the 90s, and has made a comeback since the dark Kinect years.

However, we’ve seen so little of Everwild we just don’t know what to expect, despite the gorgeous looking trailer.

Everwild is guaranteed to look nice, but what do you do in it? What’s the gameplay like?

A little more information in 2023 would be very much appreciated.

Exoprimal

This is another game which could be released in 2023, as we’ve already had a chance to play the multiplayer beta.

We know what it looks like, we know kind of how it plays, but so much of it is still shrouded in mystery.

Sci-fi mechs battling against hordes of dimension-hopping dinosaurs is just what we want to play.

So let us take a look at what anything actually means, so we know if we want to play the game ourselves.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar was such a cultural sensation when it came out in 2009, that studios immediately greenlit three sequels for it.

While we’ve waited 13 years to find out more about the future of the films, we’re hoping to find out more about Frontiers of Pandora sooner than that.

There was a new trailer last year which didn’t show too much, and the 2022 launch window has now passed us by.

Update us on the situation. Will it still be coming? Are you waiting to see how The Way of Water goes? Please let us know.

Pikmin 4

Pikmin 4 became a bit of a meme. Another game like Metroid Prime 4 where it was announced and then radio silence.

Then out of nowhere in a Nintendo Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto shows us a single screenshot, tells us it’s nearly finished and vanishes forever.

While we were excited to see that development is going smoothly, we’d be even happier to have a morsel of gameplay.

Will there be a new class of Pikmin? What will the new map look like? Anything would be an improvement over the screenshot.
