Fortnite players to receive free V-Bucks following Item Shop mix-up

EPIC Games offers refunds for Fortnite emote confusion

EPIC Games has announced that Fortnite players are entitled to refunds after a mix-up in the Item Shop. Players who purchased specific emotes, Side Shuffle and Jubi Slide, will be able to get their money back.

Similar emotes prompt complaints

Players noticed that the two emotes, added to the platform two years apart, were strikingly similar, with the only difference being the background music. This led to complaints about the emotes being a new form of 'reskin'.

Refunds and new bundle

Epic Games will refund all users who bought both emotes with 400 V-Bucks, equivalent to around £4 / $5. The Jubi Slide emote, released more recently, was removed shortly after due to the resemblance. A new bundle featuring both emotes will be available in the Item Shop for 600 V-Bucks.

Automatic refunds for affected players

If you purchased both emotes separately, you'll automatically receive the V-Bucks when you next log in to Fortnite. The bundle will include both emotes, even after the refund, allowing players to keep them.
