FORNITE’S Item Shop is looking a little different today after the Daily Items section has vanished.
The @FortniteStatus Twitter account posted an update today saying that the Daily section of the Fortnite Item Shop has been disabled.
The account clarifies that “this is intentional” before reassuring players that it’ll appear in the next Item Shop refresh.
A reason hasn’t been given for the removal, but it’s a rarity, with one Fortnite news account saying it’s the “first time that the Item Shop doesn’t have a Daily Section!”
It also posted a screengrab of the Daily Items section from earlier today before it was removed, which you can take a look at above.
One of the emotes – Out West – features music by Travis Scott.
While Epic hasn’t yet commented on the removal. fans are speculating that it could be related to the recent tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld show.
The event saw eight festival-goers lose their lives at the NRG Park in Houston
Scott has been criticised for his response during the incident.
He’s now reportedly being sued alongside Drake, and Astroworld festival organizers Live Nation, for damages.
The thread is full of theories on the Daily section’s removal, and why the single emote itself wasn’t removed if it was related to the events over the weekend.
Some users think disabling the entire section would be the fastest and most non-controversial way for Epic to distance itself from the rapper.
The studio has come under fire for inappropriate emotes in the past – namely failing to disable the Catwoman Whipcrack emote during the Fortnite MLK experience.
Removing the entire section is certainly unusual, regardless.
We’ve reached out to Epic for comment and will update the story when it responds.
