Fortnite is gearing up for one of its biggest events yet, promising to destroy the entire world. But before the highly anticipated Big Bang event, which will feature Eminem as the headliner, players should be prepared for some downtime as the game undergoes preparations for the next season. Here's what we know about Fortnite's downtime following the Big Bang event.
When Will Fortnite Go Down for the Big Bang Event?
The Fortnite Big Bang event is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm UK time. However, players will have the chance to enter a waiting room 30 minutes prior to the event's start time.
To allow for server updates and preparations for the Big Bang, the main game modes will go offline starting from 9am PT / 12pm PT / 5pm UK time on December 2. The servers will then go live again at 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 6:30pm UK time, allowing players to enter the waiting room for the event. Creator-made modes will still be available during this period, including during the Big Bang event itself.
When Will Fortnite Go Down for Chapter 5 Season 1?
After the conclusion of the Big Bang event, Fortnite will be preparing for the next chapter. This means that all modes, including the creator-made modes that remain live during the event, will go offline.
The Fortnite v28.00 update, signaling the start of Chapter 5 Season 1, is set to begin at 8:30pm PT / 11:30pm ET on December 2, and 4:30am UK time on December 3. The duration of the downtime is not officially specified, but it typically lasts several hours.
