Is Fortnite on downtime right now?

FORTNITE players have been unable to log into the game this morning, August 25, 2023, and many are wondering when the servers will be back.

The popular Battle Royale game’s servers are down at the moment for scheduled maintenance in preparation for the launch of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

When will the servers be back up?

Yes, Fortnite servers are down right now for scheduled maintenance to release patch v26.00 and kickstart the game’s next Chapter 4 Season 4, launching today, August 25, 2023.

As always, developers Epic Games have warned players about the maintenance period some time in advance.

Matchmaking in Fortnite was disabled around 7:30am UK time / 2:30am ET this morning, in preparation for v26.00’s deployment, which started at 8am UK time / 3am ET.

Usually, during new patch and season launches, Fortnite servers become unavailable at 9am UK time / 4am ET, but this time, Epic Games have moved the start time up by an hour.

How long is Fortnite downtime?

Epic Games have not given end times for the scheduled maintenance, but they will keep players posted when downtime ends.

Fortnite players can check always check for updates on the game’s server status at the official Fortnite Status Twitter account.

How long will Fortnite be down for Chapter 4 Season 4?

We don’t know for sure how long the deployment of the new season and patch will last, but server maintenance periods for previous season releases have taken up to three or four hours.

If that’s the case with Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4’s launch and patch v26.00’s deployment, we should expect servers to be back online at 11am UK time / 6am ET at the earliest.

This means the new season could go live in an hour, unless downtime takes longer than usual.
