What is FUT Champions?

FUT Champions is a competition held every weekend within FIFA 21’s online Ultimate Team mode.

Each player has the chance to play 30 matches against other opponents online, with winners announced at the end of the weekend.

Matches take place over 90 in-game minutes, and the more you win, the better your rewards.

There are no draws, so if you’re tied at the end of the 90 minutes, you’ll go to extra time and then penalties to decide a winner.

When does FUT Champions start and how do I qualify?

FUT Champions kicks off every Friday at 8am local time and finishes on Monday at 8am.

The latest iteration got underway this morning, and the next one begins (you guessed it) on December 11.

To qualify, you’ll need to earn 2,000 FUT Champions points by playing Division Rivals games or FUT Champions games.

You can then redeem those points for a spot in the competition on the home FUT menus. Head to the “Weekend League” widget and select “Redeem”.

It’s important to note that this will qualify you for the next available FUT Champions contest.

That means if one is already underway (as is the case today), you’ll be entered into the next one (December 11 in this case).

What are the new features on FIFA 21?

Just like every year, FIFA 21 brings in a raft of changes – including the improved crossing ability and career mode.

On the gameplay side, the Agile Dribbling system allows more creativity in 1-on-1 situations, while Positioning Personality improves in-game intelligence.

You will get more control over the runs by your attackers to get in behind defences, while FIFA 21 have updated their collision system so you should get less hilarious gaffes and falling over by your players.

The Career Mode has also been given a much-needed overhaul, including the ability to simulate matches and take control of the key moments.

You can also teach new positions to your players in a revamp of the training system, while for the transfers, you’re able to make Loan-to-Buy offers along with being offered swap deals.
