Erling Haaland opens up about his love of an ‘embarrassing’ hobby following record-breaking match

ERLING Haaland recently broke the record for most Premier League goals in one season.

After scoring in City’s 3-0 victory over West Ham, Haaland has now beaten Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s previous long-standing record.

However, the City striker is now closing the distance on another major record.

Currently at 51 goals over all games this season, he is just 12 away from Dixie Dean’s record, which has stood since 1928.

Haaland claims he is not thinking about the next record as obsessing about it would make him “become crazy”.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, he instead focused on what he will do to wind down after his historic goal.

Haaland said: “I will go home now and play some video games, eat something, and then sleep.”

When pushed by interviewer David Jones on what games he enjoys, Haaland refused to answer.

He said: “I cannot say it’s too embarrassing.”

Fans immediately started speculating about which games are too embarrassing for Haaland to talk about.

Other sporting icons such as Neymar and Peter Crouch have been vocal about their love of video games in the past.

Neymar previously shared his dismay on social media after he wasn’t invited to join the beta for Counter-Strike 2.

Peter Crouch also told the story of how he was once so engrossed in Call of Duty that he didn’t realise his wife had been locked out of the house.

First-person shooters are a popular genre among players, which has led fans to believe that Haaland’s “embarrassing” game is something more relaxing.

The top guess by many is that the super striker is into playing farming simulator Stardew Valley in his time off.

Another theory is that he’s still into the same game of Minecraft he started when he was a kid.

Whatever game Haaland is into, it seems that his method of relaxation is working for him on the pitch.
