In Ultimate Team, players have the opportunity to open packs and add random cards to their teams. The higher the rating of the card, the better the player. This means that top-rated players like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé are highly coveted and often sell for millions of in-game coins on the transfer market.
Recently, EA Sports introduced a Squad Building Challenge that promised a chance to win a Team of the Year promo card with a minimum rating of 86+. This opportunity sparked excitement among players, as it provided a significantly increased chance of grabbing the legendary Messi card.
An Unexpected Error
However, an unexpected error occurred during the challenge. Despite higher-rated cards being intended to be rarer, a large number of players reported pulling the 97+ rated Lionel Messi card. Recognizing the mistake, EA Sports swiftly disabled the Squad Building Challenge.
Anger Among the Players
This move not only disappointed players who were late to the challenge and missed the opportunity to pull the rare Messi card, but it also frustrated those who had worked hard to earn enough coins to purchase the expensive card.
