This year’s Call of Duty is set during the Cold War.

The Cold War was a period of major tension between the USA and Soviet Union, but wasn’t an outright war in the conventional sense.

Instead, both nations supported “proxy wars” – regional conflicts used to gain global influence.

And the fact that both nations controlled nuclear weaponry meant that neither side was willing to risk a war proper.

PC gaming is where you’ll find the most impressive graphics in the industry.

And there’s a load of new visual tech on offer from Black Ops Cold War.

There are more than 200 individual settings for fine tuning Cold War on a PC – including keybindings, controller settings, graphics, audio, and interface features.

Some of these were available in the beta, but more will be available for launch.

Cold War also features RTX Shadows and Ambient Occlusion, powered by Nvidia’s GeForce RTX tech.

That means you’ll be able to get proper ray-traced shadows, which look incredible.

Activision has also enabled Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), which uses AI to construct sharp images while rendering fewer pixels.

Finally, you can play using multiple monitors – or ultra-wide screens, if you prefer.

In other news, Call of Duty Modern Warfare has a secret unreleased gun.

The new Zombies Onslaught mode for Cold War will be a PlayStation exclusive for the first year.
