Best players for each position in FIFA 23’s Career Mode

CAREER Mode is FIFA 23’s single-player mode, made for those who want to see their favourite players rise to the top.

Choosing which player to pick has always been a hard decision, as it’s a fine balance between which position you like and how long you want to play.

FIFA 23 is out now.

For those who think the position is key, there are a number of star players to choose from.

Here’s our list of the best players for each position in FIFA 23’s Career Mode.

Goalkeeper – Gianluigi Donnarumma

Donnarumma is one of the game’s greatest goalies.

Overall rating: 88 / Potential rating: 92

Worth: £93.5million / Weekly wage: £97k

While Donnarumma isn’t the highest-rated goalkeeper, he has the most potential, which is what’s important in Career Mode.

At 23, Donnarumma has plenty of years left of his prime, and playing for Paris Saint-Germain he’s already in one of the world’s best teams.

However, there is still a lot of room to improve. He has a decent worth and wage, meaning there is plenty of money to reach his full potential.

At the same time, he isn’t the highest-paid player, so there is plenty of room to develop him as you would like.

Defender – Trent Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold is young and packed with potential.

Overall rating: 87 / Potential rating: 92

Worth: £98million / Weekly wage: £130k

Currently playing as right back for Premier League club Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold is an up-and-coming star.

Aged just 22, he has room to reach his huge potential rating of 92, and also the wages with which to do so.

While Alexander-Arnold may seem like an easy pick, with his high rating and big wages, he’ll still need your help to reach the top.

However, with some good investments and smart decision-making, he’s sure to succeed.

Midfielder – Florian Wirtz

Wirtz is also a great addition to your FUT.

Overall rating: 82 / Potential rating: 91

Worth: £29.5million / Weekly wage: £130k

With one of the biggest gaps between his overall and potential ratings, 19-year-old Florian Wirtz is a talented player with room to grow.

Currently an attacking midfielder for Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen, he’s already squaring off with some of the best.

The issue with Wirtz would be in raising his overall worth, to have the income available to maximise his stats.

If you can manage it though Wirtz is a satisfying player to choose.

Winger – Phil Foden

Foden has a lot of potential going forward.

Overall rating: 85 / Potential rating: 92

Worth: £95million / Weekly wage: £155k

It’s hard to believe that Manchester City’s Left Winger Phil Foden is just 22 years old given the success he’s had already.

Foden’s young age paired with his impressive wages, means you have everything you need to put him on the road to success.

While he’ll start out weaker than many of the other players on this list, he also has the potential to go so much further.

This is one to pick if you find the journey to reach a player’s full potential the most satisfying part.

Striker – Erling Haaland

Haaland is Manchester City’s star transfer this season.

Overall rating: 88 / Potential rating: 94

Worth: £95million / Weekly wage: £130k

Technically cover star Kylian Mbappé is the one to choose with a 95 potential rating, but we thought Haaland was the more interesting choice.

The Manchester City striker has had an incredible start to the season, and at 22 he still has room to grow.

While Haaland’s wages are impressive, they don’t match a player of his quality.

With your help negotiating and training, you can ensure that Haaland sees the rewards he truly deserves.
