Swiss cryptocurrency-enabled bank Seba has announced a rebrand as it looks to expand its trading services worldwide. The bank will now be known as Amina Bank AG, following a name change agreement with SEB Bank in Sweden set for 2023. Amina, which stems from the term "transamination," reflects the bank's mission to bring together traditional, digital, and crypto banking services.

Expanding horizons

Amina's rebranding comes as the bank actively expands its products globally. It recently obtained a license from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, allowing it to offer crypto trading services in the country. The bank also received financial services permission from Abu Dhabi Global Market in 2022 and opened an office in Abu Dhabi. Amina's CEO stated that the bank's focus is on Switzerland, Abu Dhabi, and APAC regions, including Hong Kong and Singapore.

Business as usual

The rebrand will not impact current clients of Amina Bank, formerly known as Seba Bank. The bank operates globally, offering traditional and crypto banking services. Amina is a major player in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, enabling financial institutions to provide crypto-related services. The bank recently partnered with St.Galler Kantonalbank, one of Switzerland's largest banks, to offer digital asset custody and brokerage services.
