New Milestone for Base Network

The Coinbase layer-2 network, Base, has achieved a new peak in terms of daily transactions, according to data from blockchain explorer BaseScan. On September 14th, the network reached 1.88 million transactions, surpassing its previous record of 1.41 million transactions in August.

Outperforming Rival Chains

Base's daily transaction numbers have outpaced rival chains such as Optimism and Arbitrum, which collectively had 878,000 transactions on the same day.

Still Playing Catch-up

Despite this milestone, Base Network still lags behind more established blockchains like Polygon and BNB Smart Chain (BSC). Polygon recorded 2.1 million transactions on the same date, while BSC had 3.1 million transactions.

A Shift in User Numbers

In contrast to its previous transaction record in August, where Base Network had 136,000 daily active users, this time it only had around 86,000 on September 14th.

A Warm Welcome from the Crypto Community

Since its official launch on August 9th, Base Network has gained popularity within the crypto community. Over 268,000 unique wallets minted over 700,000 NFTs on the layer-2 network on September 6th alone. Additionally, within its first two weeks, more than $242 million worth of crypto assets were bridged to the blockchain, with 130,000 unique wallets being used daily.
