Millions of Brits are living in Tier 4 areas which means non-essential retail must close.
Those in Tier 1, 2 and 3 are able to visit shops and there are no restrictions on what can and can’t open.
Some retailers are also operating reduced opening hours due to the Christmas holidays.
In Tier 4, only essential shops can stay open. Other shops can still open for click and collect and delivery purposes.

Aldi
Aldi is open as normal in Tier 4 areas as it’s a supermarket.
It will be operating some reduced hours over the New Year period.

Asda
Asda is open as normal in Tier 4 areas as it’s a supermarket.
Shops were closed on Boxing Day and may be operating reduced hours over New Year’s, check the festive hours to avoid wasting a trip to your local branch.
B&M
B&M, which has over 600 shops across the UK, told Trending In The News it won’t be closing any stores during this lockdown.

During the last lockdown, B&M temporarily closed 49 of its stores but these have since reopened.
Shoppers can’t order from the retailer online, and customers are being reminded to only visit stores for essential products.
B&Q
B&Q remains open in Tier 4 areas, as hardware stores have been confirmed as “essential” retailers.
Stores were closed on Boxing Day. It is open on New Years Eve and New Year’s Day but will have reduced hours.

Halfords stores are currently open for business in Tier 4 areas.

It was closed on Boxing Day, check with your local shop to find out about opening hours.

Homebase stores are open in Tier 4 areas.

Iceland is open as normal in Tier 4 areas but it may be operating reduced hours over New Year’s.
