Where is Dr Anthony Fauci today?
On June 15, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases revealed that Dr Anthony Fauci tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a statement by the institute, the 81-year-old who has been boosted twice is currently experiencing mild symptoms.
On January 11, 2022, Fauci and many other health leaders testified before Senate for a federal response on the Omicron Covid variant.
Back in December of 2021, Fauci reported to the Associated Press that “the one thing that we know from, now, almost two years of experience with this virus is that it is really very unpredictable.”

Yet, there are early indications that suggest the Omicron variant may be less dangerous than the delta.
Though the variant might not be as strong, Fauci does encourage people to wear masks and social distance as we head into winter.
First discovered in South Africa, the Omicron variant has mutations that can allow the virus to enter the body.
On Monday, November 29, 2021, travel restrictions were set for non-US travellers from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Malawi.
Omicron cases have since popped up in a multitude of other countries, including the UK, Israel, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Australia and Hong Kong.
