It is understood cops were searching for any documents that could assist an inquiry into suspected fraud offences. No arrests were made.

Tory peer Lady Michelle Mone, 50, is believed to have been present at one of the addresses.

The NCA is investigating the award of Department of Health and Social Care contracts for supplying surgical gowns and masks to the NHS.

Glasgow-born entrepreneur Lady Mone has denied any involvement with a company, PPE Medpro, which was given the Government contracts along with another firm.

However, it later emerged Lady Mone had referred PPE Medpro to the office of fellow Tory peer Theodore Agnew, then a Cabinet Office minister responsible for procurement.

The company was added by Lord Agnew’s office to the Government’s “VIP lane,” said to have given companies a ten times greater chance of being awarded a PPE deal.

Isle of Man-based PPE Medpro and a UK subsidiary were formed in May 2020, weeks before being awarded contracts to supply 25 million sterile gowns and masks.

The Guardian revealed earlier this year how gowns bought by the Government for £122million had been purchased from a Chinese manufacturer for £46million.

The gowns were never used by the NHS after being rejected following an inspection.

Files leaked to the newspaper suggested Lady Mone was involved with PPE Medpro. She has made clear she had no role or function in the company.

It is understood that the company denies wrongdoing.

Lady Mone, made a peer by David Cameron in 2015, has a £25million estate on the Isle of Man, as well as having a Belgravia home.

In January it emerged she had been referred to the House of Lords Commissioners for Standards.

Labour peer George Foulkes accused her of failing to fully disclose her alleged interests in PPE Medpro and asked if she breached lobbying rules.
