As celebrities continue to make headlines, fans want to know if their favorite stars are vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
Is Mayim Bialik vaccinated against Covid-19?
A spokesperson for Bialik recently revealed her vaccination status to The Wrap.
On the same day that Bialik and Richards were announced as the new hosts, it was also revealed that Bialik is also completely vaccinated.
“She has been fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus and is not at all an anti-vaxxer,” the spokesperson said.
What has Mayim Bialik said about vaccines in the past?
Bialik’s vaccination news comes after her past comments about vaccinations resurfaced on the internet.
Many believed that the neuroscientist was an anti-vaxxer because of her 2012 book, Beyond the Sling, where she revealed that she hadn’t gotten a vaccine in 30 years.
“This year I’m going to do something I literally haven’t done in 30 years. I’m going to get a vaccine. And guess what? I’m actually going to get two,” Bialik began in a YouTube video titled Anti-Vaxxers and Covid that was released in October of 2020.
Bialik revealed that her and her children would be getting Covid-19 and flu vaccines, admitting that her sons had never had a flu shot before.
“Let’s finally talk about it. I wrote a book about 10 years ago about my experience parenting and at the time my children had not received the typical schedule of vaccines. But I have never, not once, said that vaccines are not valuable, not useful, or not necessary because they are,” Bialik said.
“The truth is, I delayed vaccinations for reasons that you don’t necessarily get to know about simply because you follow me on social media.”
“As of today, my children may not have had every one of the vaccinations that your children have but my children are vaccinated. I repeat, my children are vaccinated,” Bialik continued.
Is Mayim Bialik a neuroscientist?
Bialik did not only play the character of a neuroscientist on The Big Bang Theory, she is one in real life.
During her career, Bialik took a 12-year break to attend college at the University of California, Los Angeles to pursue a degree in neuroscience.
In 2007, she officially graduated and received her doctorate in the field.
