SHOPS have been ordered to close due to the latest national lockdown, but what does it mean for electricals retailer Currys PC World?
Boris Johnson announced a third national lockdown across the country earlier this month amid rising coronavirus cases.
Schools are closed until mid-February and only essential shops such as supermarkets can remain open.
Non-essential shops such as Currys PC World can still remain open for click and collect services but you can no longer browse in-store.
Here is what the new rules mean for Currys PC World.
Is Currys PC World open today?
Currys PC World stores are currently only open for click and collect services or you can get items delivered to your home when ordering online.
You can order an item online and arrange to pick it up for free from your nearest store.
Currys PC World stores are open for click and collect in England, Scotland and Wales but home delivery is only available in Northern Ireland.
Opening times vary but range from 10am to 8pm.
Find your nearest store using the Currys PC World locator where you can filter your search such as by stores that are open on Sundays and those with parking.
Click and collect
You can choose to either have your item brought to your boot with a drive-thru option or collect outside the store while following social distancing guidelines.
To use the drive-thru option you will need to click on a link in your order confirmation email once you arrive in a designated parking bay.
This will tell staff you have arrived and the item will be brought to your boot.
Alternatively, the walk-up options lets you get your item from a collection point outside the store.
Currys PC World is also offering tech advice online with video calls through its website.
You can do this wherever you see the ShopLive icon.
Delivery
There is no charge for standard delivery on small items.
This means you should get your order in three to five working days.
Next day delivery costs £5.
Deliveries are between 8am and 5pm and this applies to most items excluding larger goods such as washing machines and TVs over 40″.
Standard delivery on larger items is free on weekdays and Sunday or £5 on Saturdays.
You can choose a three hour time slot on weekdays and Sunday for £20 or on Saturday for £25.
Next day delivery on larger items costs £20 between 7am and 8pm or £40 if you want to choose a time slot.
Large items can still be delivered to a room of your choice or left at your front door.
Staff are wearing face coverings and sanitising before and after every delivery.
There are also regular temperature checks.
Returns
Currys has extended the amount of time for unwanted returns from 14 to 21 days.
Faulty goods can be returned within 30 days.
Small items can be returned through DPD. Complete a small items return form on the Currys PC World website.
You can also arrange for large items to be collected using the large items return form.
Select stores will also accept certain returns but not online-only kitchen appliances.
Supermarkets remain open during lockdown because they are classed as an essential shop.
