Brits are set to welcome a major holiday boost as seven more destinations are added to the green travel list, it is understood.
Canada, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Azores have been given the go ahead by Scotland for quarantine-free travel.
England is set to follow suit with an imminent announcement.
Brit tourists can breathe a sigh of relief as France, Spain, Greece, Portugal and other European holiday hotspots stay put.
Tonight’s changes aren’t as positive for holidaymakers in Montenegro and Thailand as both countries are being added to the Government’s red list.
It means those currently soaking up the sun in the popular hotspots now have to fork out £1,750 for a 10-day stint in hotel quarantine.
Tonight’s announcement now opens up potential quarantine-free getaways to the sunny Azores – and for ski holidays to the Swiss Alps.
The last time the list changed, seven countries – Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway and Romania – were added to the green list.
Vaccinated Brits will not be affected by any changes from green to amber, but those without both jabs will have to quarantine for 10 days and pay for an extra Covid test when returning to the UK.
Anyone coming back to Britain from a green list destination will need to have two Covid tests.
This includes a pre-arrival Covid test, and also a test on day two of returning to the UK.
Quarantine or additional testing is not needed upon return, unless the post-arrival test is positive.
