Revellers flooded the streets and went to bars and clubs across the country to toast the start of the three-day break.

As Britain is set to be hotter than Ibiza this weekend, sun-starved Brits will be able to enjoy the Bank holiday in soaring temperatures.

Temperatures are expected to hit a balmy 24C over the next few days after the wettest May on record in the UK.

And it’s going to get even hotter as the mercury rises to 25C during a two-week heatwave.

Forecasters are predicting the Bank Holiday weekend will be brighter and warmer, with London and central parts of England set to be hotspots.

Punters were seen taking advantage of the warm weather, heading to bars all around UK.

Most revellers enjoyed a drunken night out to mark the beginning of the Bank holiday weekend.

Meanwhile, drinkers are set for a boost as ministers are prioritising the return of ordering at the bar over ditching face masks.

It seems as the biggest priority is to scrap social distancing on June 21 over other restrictions.

However, with cases of the Indian Covid variant on the rise, ministers concerned about the spread of the virus are considering keeping face masks and home working even after June 21.
