Mum-of-two Dies Three Days After Cancer Diagnosis, Days Before Becoming a Grandma

A Tragic Loss

A 42-year-old woman tragically passed away just three days after being diagnosed with cancer. Rachael Quinton, a mother of two from Shropshire, visited her GP on December 27 and underwent a blood test. She then went to the hospital on January 6, where she received the devastating news of a terminal cancer diagnosis. Rachael's death came just three days later on January 9, leaving her family and friends in shock.

An Exciting Future Cut Short

Rachael was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild, due in April. Her eldest daughter, Mollie, 19, is expecting a baby and Rachael was "so excited" to meet her grandchild. The news of her passing has left her family heartbroken, especially for Mollie and her younger sister Ellie, 16, who now have to say goodbye to their mother at such a young age.

A Beloved Support Teacher

Rachael worked as a support teacher at St Leonard's CE Primary School for over ten years. Headteacher Luke Bridges expressed the school's deep sadness at the loss of such a kind and talented staff member. The children, especially the younger ones, found comfort in Rachael's company. Her presence will be sorely missed.

A Love for Family and Animals

Rachael's cousin, Aimee George, shared that family meant the "world" to Rachael, including her beloved pets. Rachael took great pride in her children's achievements, particularly in their dance pursuits. Aimee mentioned Rachael's glamorous style and her passion for animals, which she passed on to her children. Ellie, Rachael's daughter, is currently studying at West Midlands Safari Park. Rachael's love for animals was evident in her care for the school's pet, whom she took home for Christmas.

Supporting the Family

Aimee has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for Rachael's daughters and her soon-to-be grandchild. The sudden loss has left the family unprepared emotionally and financially, and they hope to provide Ellie, Mollie, and the grandchild with the support and resources Rachael would have wanted for them.

Gratitude for Community Support

Rachael's daughter, Mollie, expressed her gratitude to the community for the overwhelming support they have received. The outpouring of love and assistance means a great deal to Mollie and her family, and they know it would have meant the world to Rachael as well.
