A bride-to-be choked to death on holiday just weeks before her wedding, leaving her family devastated. Sophie Runkee, 34, was found unconscious on the balcony of their hotel by her 14-year-old daughter during a 'memory-making' family trip to Turkey.
A holiday turned nightmare
Sophie and her fiancé Jj Warner had planned the trip to spend quality time with her three children after Jj's skin cancer diagnosis. The vacation took a tragic turn when Sophie choked on her own vomit after a night out dancing in local bars.
Heartfelt tributes
Jj, who tried to save Sophie's life with CPR, expressed his devastation over the loss of his "best friend" and "soul mate". The couple had brought their wedding forward due to Jj's illness and were set to marry in Scotland in six weeks.
Support for the family
A GoFundMe page has been set up by friends to assist with funeral expenses and to support Jj and the children. In a touching tribute, Jj promised to cherish their memories and take care of their children in Sophie's absence.
