The talented star, known for her appearances in telenovelas and beauty pageants, announced in May that she would be stepping back from her acting career to focus on her treatment.

Alejandra Villafañe, who had a strong following on Instagram, was a well-known figure in her home country of Colombia and beyond. She gained fame for her roles in popular telenovelas such as La Nieta Elegida and Always a Witch. In addition to her acting career, she also won the Miss Earth Colombia competition in 2014 and achieved a top 16 placement in Miss Earth in the Philippines that same year.
