Transforming Support for Veterans

Recently, I met veteran Mark Harding, who was shot in the neck in Afghanistan in 2010 and was told he would never walk again. Last year, he proved them wrong by walking from John O’Groats to Land’s End for charity. This showcases the resilience and determination of veterans like Mark.

A Pledge to Veterans

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made a simple pledge to all those who have served in uniform - to make the UK the best country in the world to be a veteran. This commitment includes a new Office for Veterans’ Affairs, a dedicated Veterans Minister in the Cabinet, and the first-ever draft Veterans Bill.

Recognizing Veterans as Assets

Veterans are seen as one of the nation's greatest assets due to their unparalleled resilience and resourcefulness. The government aims to support veterans in transitioning to civilian life by helping them find good jobs and embark on new challenges and careers.

Serving Those Who Served Us

Prime Minister Johnson is determined to ensure that veterans are supported and able to thrive in civilian life. The goal is to serve them as well as they have served the country, recognizing their sacrifices and contributions.
