FIREBRAND Tory Susan Hall has today been selected to challenge Sadiq Khan for the London mayoralty – but he remains the odds-on favourite.
The 68-year-old beat lawyer Moz Hossain to win the nomination with 57 per cent of the city’s party members.
Susan Hall is the Tory candidate to take on Sadiq Khan for London Mayor
She has vowed to scrap the hated Ulez expansion on day one if she ousts the Labour Mayor in next May’s election.
And in an interview with Trending In The News the London Assembly member called Mr Khan a sexist who has a woman problem.
However Mr Khan will be confident of a third election victory after the Tories failed to pick a high-profile challenger.
Following her selection, Ms Hall went on the attack at Mr Khan and said: “He goes on trips while young people get stabbed on our streets.
“He’s more interested in selling his book than he is helping Londoners with the cost of living.
“When things go wrong, he hires an army of spin doctors to convince you it’s actually not his fault. I’ll do whatever it takes to win.”
Labour burst out of the traps with their own criticism of the Conservative opponent.
A spokesman said: “The Conservative candidate for Mayor is a hard-right politician who couldn’t be more out of touch with our city and its values.
“She’s an outspoken supporter of Trump, Boris Johnson and a hard Brexit. She cheered Liz Truss’s mini-budget, which sent mortgages and rents soaring.
“She doesn’t stand up for women. And she hates London’s diversity.”
