Former SAS Hardman Comes to the Rescue
Tory MP and former SAS hardman David Davis showed his heroic side when he saved a homeless man from a violent attack just yards away from Parliament. Davis, who qualified for the elite Special Forces' reserves unit 50 years ago, witnessed two drug-addled thugs assaulting the victim as he was leaving a Chinese restaurant on Tuesday evening.
Stepping in to Drive the Attackers Away
Davis, 74, wasted no time and stepped in to drive the attackers away, putting himself in harm's way as he stood his ground. Witnesses described his actions as a "true act of heroism." Despite the attackers' threats, Davis successfully intervened, ensuring the victim's safety in less than two minutes.
Reflecting on the Incident
When asked about the incident, Davis remained humble, stating that his only concern was "getting Gareth out of risk." He shared that he had intervened in similar situations in the past, driven by a personal tragedy that occurred 35 years ago. Davis highlighted the importance of intimidation rather than being intimidated and credited his SAS training for helping him protect himself during the altercation.
A Bed for the Night and a Trip to A&E
Not only did Davis save Gareth from immediate danger, but he also extended his kindness by offering the victim a place to stay for the night. The MP also took Gareth to the hospital the following morning, ensuring he received medical attention for his injuries. Guto Harri, Boris Johnson's former spin-doctor, who witnessed the incident, praised Davis for his heroic actions, stating that he had undoubtedly saved Gareth's life.
A True Hero
Davis's quick thinking, bravery, and compassion make him a true hero in this harrowing incident. His selfless act serves as a reminder of the importance of looking out for one another, especially in times of need.
