Tory Leadership Candidate Reveals Past Use of Ozempic for Weight Loss

Speculation Confirmed

Tory leadership hopeful Robert Jenrick has revealed that he previously used the Ozempic weight-loss jab, although he admitted that he "didn’t particularly enjoy it." Speculation has been circulating regarding whether Conservative candidates have been utilizing this injection for weight loss.

Personal Experience

Jenrick disclosed that he used Ozempic for approximately six weeks during the autumn of the previous year. He acknowledged being overweight at the time and mentioned that while the medication was helpful, he did not find the experience particularly enjoyable. Since then, he has managed to shed four stone over the course of a year through exercise and improved eating habits.

Political Landscape

Jenrick's rival Tom Tugendhat recently stated that he was not using Ozempic. The injection, typically prescribed for Type 2 diabetes, is also being utilized for weight loss by curbing one's appetite. Jenrick received a campaign boost as the Tory deputy chairman Matthew Vickers resigned from his position to support him. Currently, Jenrick is the second favorite in the betting markets, following Kemi Badenoch.

Competition Among Contenders

Other contenders in the Tory leadership race include James Cleverly, Dame Priti Patel, and Mel Stride, all vying to succeed the defeated Rishi Sunak. Conservative party leaders are working to prevent public disputes among the candidates following the party's election loss in July. The returning office has the authority to publicly identify any candidate believed to be involved in personal attacks on a rival.
