A SCOTTISH National MP is set to be banned from the Commons for sexual misconduct towards a junior party employee.
Patrick Grady, 42, was found to have stroked the staffer’s neck, hair and back in an “unwanted advance” during a 2016 pub social.
Parliament’s sleaze-busters today recommended the party’s former chief whip be suspended for two days.
While MPs are allowed to have sexual relations with staff, the Independent Expert Panel warned that “great disparities of status and power exist”.
It added: “Where a considerable disparity of age and experience is added into the mix, it will be highly problematic to initiate a sexual relationship without the risk that there is no true mutuality.
“An unwanted physical touching, with sexual intent, from a senior MP to a junior member of staff, even on a single occasion, is a significant breach of the policy.
“It must be marked by some period of suspension from the House.”
The MP for Glasgow North did not appeal the decision and will be suspended following a vote of his colleagues.
The report was published as SNP boss Nicola Sturgeon outlined her blueprint for Independence.
