RAIL workers will be stopped from cashing in on strike chaos by clocking up overtime afterwards.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has outlined a pay crackdown ahead of walkouts across the rail network.
Writing in Trending In The News on Sunday, he says: “In the past, rail workers have been able to top-up wage packets reduced by striking through more overtime working on subsequent days.
“That won’t be happening this time. Rail managers and ministers are determined to ensure strikers cannot milk the system to maintain their income while inflicting misery on the public.”
Mr Shapps says he will tackle the “cynical calculation” of the RMT leadership that will cause “maximum pain for the public with the minimum possible hit to rail workers’ pay packets”.
The RMT will walk out on Tuesday June 21, 23 and 25 and Unite members will also strike across the capital’s transport network on June 21 over pay, pensions and jobs.

Mr Shapps also points out the decision to strike will cause mayhem for those needing medical treatment.
He adds: “Patients travelling for operations delayed by the pandemic will be stranded.”
